Frequently asked questions
Do I need proof or documentation?
No. Oral history and memory count as much as paper records. If you have documents, photos, or letters, even better, but a remembered story is enough to start with.
Will you record my interview?
Yes, with your permission. We record audio or video and transcribe key parts. You’ll always be asked for consent first, and you’ll be credited by name unless you ask us not to.
Is this connected to a specific organization?
Black Manayunk operates as an LLC for our podcast, social media, and public content, with a historical society in development to handle archival work and oral history collection specifically.
How do I get started?
Reach out through the contact form or come to one of our story circles. We’ll walk you through what to expect before you share anything.
