Podcast Guest Release and Consent Agreement

Unseen Hands, a production of Black Manayunk LLC

This agreement is between Black Manayunk LLC (“Black Manayunk,” “we,” “us”) and the individual appearing as a guest on the Unseen Hands podcast or related Black Manayunk media (“Guest,” “you”).

By agreeing to appear as a guest, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the following:

1. Recording Consent

You agree to be audio and/or video recorded for potential use in the Unseen Hands podcast, Black Manayunk’s website, social media channels, promotional materials, and archival collection. Recording will only begin after you provide this consent.

2. Voluntary Participation

Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may decline to answer any question, pause the recording, or end the interview at any time. You may also request that specific portions of your interview not be published, provided that request is made before final publication.

3. Nature of Content

You understand that Unseen Hands is a storytelling and oral history project, not a work of academic or journalistic fact-checking. Your account will be presented as your personal recollection, memory, and perspective. Black Manayunk will make reasonable efforts to present your story accurately and in context but does not independently verify all personal or historical claims made during interviews.

4. Grant of Rights

You grant Black Manayunk LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to record, edit, reproduce, publish, distribute, broadcast, and archive your recorded interview, name, voice, likeness, and life story as shared during the interview, in whole or in part, across any current or future media format, including but not limited to podcast platforms, our website, social media, video content, printed materials, and archival collections.

This license does not transfer ownership of your personal story to Black Manayunk. You retain the right to share your own story elsewhere. However, once published by us, we retain the right to keep our produced episode and related content available and distributed as part of our body of work and archive.

5. Editing

You understand that your interview may be edited for length, clarity, and content, and that Black Manayunk retains final editorial discretion over how your interview is presented. We will make reasonable efforts to preserve the accuracy and spirit of what you shared.

6. No Compensation

Unless otherwise agreed to in writing in advance, your appearance on Unseen Hands is uncompensated. Podcast content generates revenue for Black Manayunk LLC as a for-profit entity, and you understand and agree that no royalties, fees, or revenue share are owed to you for your appearance, absent a separate written agreement.

7. Archival Use

Because Black Manayunk exists in part to preserve community history, your interview may become part of our long-term archive, potentially including future partnership with the Black Manayunk Historical Society or other historical institutions, for historical and educational purposes.

8. Release of Claims

You release Black Manayunk LLC, its owners, employees, and affiliates from any claims arising from the recording, editing, and publication of your interview, provided it is used consistent with this agreement. This does not release Black Manayunk from claims of intentional misrepresentation of your story.

9. Right to Request Removal

If, after publication, you wish to request that your episode or a portion of it be removed from active distribution, you may contact us at hello@blackmanayunk.com or 484-378-9108. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests, though full removal from all platforms and archives cannot always be guaranteed once content has been distributed.

10. Age Confirmation

By signing, you confirm you are 18 years of age or older, or that you are the parent or legal guardian of the minor guest and consent on their behalf.
