Black Manayunk LLC Effective Date: August 1, 2026
1. Who We Are
Black Manayunk (blackmanayunk.com, blackmynk.com, and associated social media accounts) is owned and operated by Black Manayunk LLC, a for-profit limited liability company organized in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Black Manayunk LLC is not a nonprofit organization and is not registered as a 501(c)(3) or any other tax-exempt entity. Purchases, tips, contributions, and payments made through this website, our podcast, our merchandise store, or platforms such as Buy Me a Coffee are not tax-deductible.
A separate entity, the Black Manayunk Historical Society, is in development as a nonprofit organization intended to handle archival work, oral history preservation, and grant-eligible fundraising. Until that entity is formally incorporated and recognized as tax-exempt, no donations made anywhere on this website or through Black Manayunk LLC’s channels qualify as charitable, tax-deductible contributions. If and when the Historical Society is established, its donation channels will be clearly separated and identified as such.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using this website, submitting content, requesting to appear on our podcast, purchasing merchandise, or otherwise interacting with Black Manayunk LLC, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or our services.
3. Nature of Our Content
Black Manayunk is a community history and storytelling project. Our content includes:
- Podcast episodes featuring guest interviews and oral history
- Blog posts and archival features
- User-submitted stories, photographs, and documents
- Community-sourced oral histories
We make good-faith efforts to present historical information accurately and to verify details where possible. However, much of our content relies on personal memory, oral tradition, and family accounts, which are inherently subjective and may contain inaccuracies, gaps, or differing perspectives from other sources. We do not guarantee the historical accuracy, completeness, or objectivity of any story, memory, or account shared on this site or podcast.

4. User Submissions
If you submit a story, photograph, document, or other material to Black Manayunk (through our website, a submission form, email, or in person), separate terms in our Story and Content Submission Agreement apply and govern how we may use your material. By submitting content, you agree to those terms.
5. Podcast Guest Appearances
If you appear as a guest on the Unseen Hands podcast or any other Black Manayunk media, a separate Podcast Guest Release governs your appearance, our use of your recorded likeness and voice, and related terms. You will be asked to review and agree to that release before recording.
6. Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise noted, the Black Manayunk name, logo, “Black Mynk” branding, podcast name and artwork, website design, and original written content are the property of Black Manayunk LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use these assets for commercial purposes without our written permission.
User-submitted content remains subject to the terms of our Story and Content Submission Agreement, which addresses ownership and licensing separately.
7. Merchandise and Purchases
Merchandise sold through this website is fulfilled through third-party providers (including but not limited to Printify) and processed through third-party payment processors (including but not limited to Stripe). We are not responsible for delays, defects, or issues arising from these third-party services beyond what is reasonably within our control. All sales are final except as required by law or as otherwise stated in our refund policy.
8. No Professional Advice
Nothing on this website constitutes legal, financial, genealogical, or professional historical research advice. Content is provided for educational and community storytelling purposes only.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Black Manayunk LLC, its owners, employees, and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of this website, our podcast, our merchandise, or reliance on any content we publish, including historical claims made by us or by third parties (including guests and contributors) in our content.
This website and all content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
10. Third-Party Links and Platforms
Our website and content may link to or reference third-party platforms (social media, streaming services, payment processors, fulfillment services). We are not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of these third parties.
11. Community Conduct
We ask that anyone interacting with our platforms, comment sections, social media, or events do so respectfully. We reserve the right to remove content, comments, or submissions, and to decline story submissions or podcast guest requests, at our discretion, particularly where content is harassing, discriminatory, defamatory, or plainly false.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, without regard to conflict of law principles.
